When the ground behind a wall saturates during a big wet, the water adds enormous hydrostatic pressure on top of the soil load — and a wall built without proper drainage simply isn't designed to take it. That's how walls end up leaning, cracking and bulging after a wet season.

That means a layer of free-draining gravel behind the wall and a slotted ag-pipe at the base, wrapped and laid to fall, that collects water and carries it out to a safe discharge point instead of letting it build up behind the structure. It's the part you never see once the job's backfilled, but it's the part that decides whether your wall is still dead straight in ten years. We don't cut corners on it.
