Concrete out here has to cope with things it never sees further south. Long stretches of intense sun and heat push evaporation up fast, which means a slab can lose surface moisture before it has cured properly if it isn't managed. Then the wet season arrives and the ground swells, drainage gets tested, and any job that was poured with the wrong falls or a skipped step starts to show it. We build with all of that in mind — from the mix and the curing right through to where the water is meant to run.

Ground conditions vary a lot across the region too. You'll find reactive clays that move with moisture on plenty of Rockhampton and Gracemere blocks, sandier profiles closer to the coast around Yeppoon and Emu Park, and sloping sites that need retaining and proper drainage before a single cubic metre is poured. We assess the site, get the base prep and reinforcement right for what it's actually carrying, and don't cut corners on the parts you can't see once the pour is done — because that's exactly where problems start years later.
